Meet the Cast & Crew
David Devoy- Writer /Director
Since graduating from UCD where he studied History and Politics, David has been writing screenplays. Bare is the script that he decided to make his directorial debut. Extremely literate in cinema and fascinated by telling stories, David is only just getting started in what promises to be an exciting career.
Richard Keaney- Producer
Richard founded Fight Back Films with fellow director Natasha Waugh in 2013.
Graduating from UCD with a primary focus on pursuing direction, he made his first short film, Recoil (2014) which was selected for both the Videodrunk Film Festival, Toronto and Dublin International Short Film and Music Festival. His second short, Late Arrivals was officially selected for 11 International festivals including IndieCork, Chicago Irish Film Festival, Fastnet Short Film Festival & Limerick Short Film Festival where it was nominated for Best Director and won the award for Best Lighting. The film finished off it’s run of good form with two months of screening on Aer Lingus Long haul flights from October- November, 2016.
He is currently in post-production on short film, Scope, his third film as writer/director.
Sonya Deegan- Director of Photography
A graduate of Trinity College and Ballyfermot Film School, Sonya has been working in the film industry for many years. Her work has mainly consisted of positions in the camera and lighting departments. Her TV work includes the likes of Into The Badlands, Vikings, Penny Dreadful and Ripper Street. Sonya has worked with Fight Back Films on a number of occasions such as her role as a camera assistant on Late Arrivals and Lag.
Bare is Sonya’s first short film acting as DOP.
Cast
Fiach Kunz – Karl
Fiach is a recent student of the programme for Screen Acting at Bow Street.
His credits include playing a Lannister Guard in Season 5 of HBO’s global phenomenon, Game of Thrones. His feature credits consist of playing lead, Sean in feature film Lift , Aaron Roberts in Blue Dawn and recently Lieutenant D’arcy in Lance Daly’s upcoming Black 47.
He is also currently shooting Scope, Producer Richard Keaney’s short in which he plays the lead role.
Carolyn Bracken- Veronica
Carolyn is an experienced actress at home both on screen and onstage. As well as a number of short films and TV appearances such as Savage Eye and Psych Ward over the past few years, Carolyn recently played a small role in acclaimed Irish feature, A Date for Mad Mary.
Michael O’Kelly- Benjamin
A native of Dublin, Michael is a versatile actor with experience of both stage and screen.
He is a graduate of the Gaiety School of Acting, and more recently the Momentum Acting studio.
He recently starred in acclaimed short Lily, directed by Graham Cantwell.
Chris McMorrow- Man
A man of many talents, in addition to his acting work, Chris is also a full-time professional
painter. His on screen roles as of late include shorts such as Heavenly Sins and The Last Frame.
